Protest Press is a collective movement encouraging people to find their voice and offering the tools and method for them to do so. Protest Press was founded by five final year design students united under the belief that design has the capability to inspire people to have a voice and promote positive change. Using the power of design and communication, we exist as a series of workshops and exhibitions offering people a platform to have a voice. Our workshop provides a platform striving towards inclusion and positive change through design and communication. We provide the tools and materials to generate quick and easy responses to real world problems, this is by use of folded paper letter forms and a photocopier machine. Originally we curated the workshops generating outcomes using a letter press but now has moved towards printing the matter to engage beyond the workshop. Outcome designs are posted onto our website creating a dynamic dialogue, where it becomes a conversation promoting progress.

We propose to engage with surrounding local community and social groups and invite them to our workshop event. Here we would engage Protest Press; explaining the nature of protest, working on slogans of personal interest, and creating rapid engaging responses using the photocopier.

In the publication we would like to showcase outcomes from workshops and expanding the capability of design for social change.
